Someone from Colombia once called me "comeaños,"

Someone from Colombia once called me "comeaños," which translated directly into English means "eats years." It is an affectionate name for a person who looks much younger than their years.

For many years I have been told that I look younger than my age, and I never really thought much about it. I not only look younger than my age, but physically I have the health and agility of someone much younger.

Today, September 15th, I have completed 52 years on my life's journey, and I want to express gratitude and thanks for health and strength.

I may not be where I would like to be in life at the moment, but I am grateful for another day of life without pain and sickness, another day with self-awareness and the ability to still keep striving towards my goals.

Last Sunday I ran a total of 29 kilometers, giving me a weekly total of 125 kilometers.

I am sharing this to remind everyone that in spite of the challenges you may be going through, there is always something positive you can find in your life to keep you living and pushing forward.

For a time I was down under my challenges, but then I realised that the only way forward is to use the good things in my life as stepping stones to a better life, and if my life ends with me trying, at least I would have lived with a better attitude and a better quality of life.

I believe in God, so I will express thanks for Divine guidance and provision in many ways, from the people placed in my path who have helped me, to the opportunities I have had that helped me along the way.

And for anyone reading this who may feel down, discouraged, or disappointed, remember that it is better to live a life of gratitude for the little good in your life, even if it is only the memory of a good past, because it is better to wake up every day looking forward to the changes you can experience than to be held back by the negatives of the past, even when their impact still affects you in the present.

Here is to another year with thanks and gratitude.
