When I ran into a pack of doberman dogs

In the past I never thought much about risks as a runner

I was running very early in the morning on a particular day while I lived in Mandeville and mistakenly ran unto a private road that had no enclosure. I thought it would be a good idea until I saw a pack of doberman dogs slowly coming towards me from all angles.

Before my close misfortune I had always ran pass that particular road every morning while I did my weekly morning runs and one morning I took a closer look from a distance as I came closer and noticed that the road was very wide and as a runner that is a welcoming feeling so I decided to explore not realizing at the time that this was a private road used by large construction vehicles that would travel there to transport large quantity of soil.

Immediately as I entered the road and noticed many fast movements in the dark then before I could say hello I realized my dilemma.

I was not aware of being afraid but I understood the danger I was in and as I looked around I could see at least six(6) doberman dogs slowly walking towards me, the only area free was behind me which was the pointing towards the entrance/exit of this road.

For an unknown reason I instinctly began to snap my fingers while whistling to a rythmn then I noticed all the dogs stopped approaching and one even sat down, immediately I slowly walked backwards while still facing them and continued snapping and whistling my rythmn until I was nearer to the entrance of the road to start running away on the main road. The dogs did not follow me from the moment I started the sounds which made me believe they were trained and that I was in deed on a private property.
